An initial consultation meeting provides a starting point to explore your aspirations and desires and the opportunities and challenges that your site offers. From this meeting a written brief is produced together with a phased fee proposal for the design work.
A visit will be arranged to fully assess all aspects of the site and location. Measurements, levels, existing features and services are plotted and photographed. These details are used to create a survey drawing which forms the basis from which the design evolves.
An initial outline design concept plan and sketches are prepared conveying key elements: spatial layout, flow, groundwork aspects, themes and features, planting palettes and material suggestions. These will be presented to you at an interim design meeting for discussion and development so that any changes, ideas or additions can be incorporated.
The landscape design concept plan and drawings will be completed forming the masterplan for the installation work. This may comprise a scaled annotated plan drawing, colour rendered plans and perspective sketches, schematic drawings of proposed features and structures and a planting theme plan.
Details will be produced as appropriate to the nature of the project and may include structural details, setting out plans showing levels and site dimensions, detailed planting schedules, lighting schemes, hard landscaping – walls, paving, steps, bespoke structural features etc.
Again, depending on the nature of the project, this may involve producing work schedules, consultation with other professions, engineers and planning departments, preparation of outline budget estimations, written specifications, preparation and assistance with tendering process.
Once the landscape contractor has been selected, we can provide our services to ensure that the garden is installed according to the agreed scheme and to the expected high standard.
